Bridging the Centuries

​Bridging the Centuries is the Vineyard Symphony Orchestra’s 2nd annual concert, presented in partnership with Forest Lawn Glendale. This special evening brings together volunteer professional musicians to perform a dynamic program of new works by local composers alongside a beloved classical masterwork.

Featuring original pieces by Charles Fernandez, L. C. Harnsberger, and more, the program highlights the breadth and vitality of today’s composers—whose work spans concert halls, opera, film, and beyond. Set in the historic Hall of Crucifixion-Resurrection, the performance is surrounded by stunning architecture and Jan Styka’s monumental painting The Crucifixion.

Opera at the Movies: Pop-Up Recital

​Pop-Up Opera is VTO’s signature outreach program, bringing professional singers and pianists directly to community spaces for engaging 50-minute live recitals. While most performances are private, we’re thrilled to invite all audiences to a special free, open-to-the-public recital at Smiley Library in Redlands.

This year’s theme, Opera at the Movies, features operatic favorites heard in beloved Hollywood films—highlighting iconic arias, duets, and ensemble pieces. Join us for an accessible and entertaining introduction to opera in an intimate setting.
